Visit to the Georgia Aquarium

Friday, March 16th, 2007

An old friend from Austin came to Atlanta for a workshop this weekend. She had most of the day off today so I took her to the Georgia Aquarium. It’s the world’s largest aquarium with 8 million gallons and over 100,000 animals!

Glorious spring

The weather today was absolutely beautiful. I love it when spring arrives and all the flowers start blooming. It’s especially nice with the new house… I can’t wait to see what flowers and plants we have growing in the yard. The squirrels are going “nuts” and the cats have a great time watching them. (And we have an even better time watching the cats!)

The business side of things

Wednesday, March 14th, 2007

Yesterday was a fun day. My first appointment of the day was with a woman who is working on a new wedding planner book for the Atlanta market. It’s fairly new so there are a few kinks to be worked out, but it seems like a nice idea. However, the fees to advertise are staggering! I’d love to reach more brides and show them what I can do, but it’s hard to justify spending that kind of money when I have no idea if anyone will actually buy the book. Decisions, decisions.

My second appointment of the day was with Daria MacGregor. She runs Circle of Love Weddings and is a wedding planner. First impressions: well, she brought homemade cinnamon muffins to go with our coffee. How do you top that? I learned a lot about what a wedding planner actually DOES, and I hope we get the chance to work together.

I also completed a photo montage to send to Saturday’s wedding coordinator and the 1420 Room.

Morgan Thomas & Jarryd Prezzano Wedding

Sunday, March 11th, 2007

I spent the day yesterday with my first couple of 2007, Morgan and Jarryd. They were married at Dunwoody Baptist, and the reception was at the 1420 Room. The wedding was absolutely stunning, and both families were a lot of fun to work with. My very best wishes for you both as you go forward as husband and wife!

These were two of my favorite images from the day:
