Ok, let’s start with the excuses:
- I’m too busy
- It’s too expensive
- We’ve moved too much
- I’m too tired
- I don’t have enough time
- I like being fat
- Insert lame excuse here…
After WAY too long, I finally got my you-know-what back to the gym. Before we moved to England, I had been weight training at Gold’s Gym in Austin and really enjoyed it. Then we moved and had very little time or money (see excuses above) and I had a penchant for fish & chips and real ales.
There is a local gym just down the road from our house, and after much delay and whining I finally got myself a membership. Had my first training session with Maureen this afternoon and realized how out of shape I’ve actually become. Today’s workout was, let’s face it, a very easy routine. Instead of breezing through, I was halfway through it when I felt dizzy and nauseous. Yuck!
Suffice it to say, I probably won’t move for the rest of the afternoon, evening, and most of tomorrow without a little bit of soreness. But I’ll also go back for more punishment in a few days. I’m excited to get myself back on track, thanks Maureen!
