Homeowners x2
Allen and I had recently been discussing the possibility of finding a little investment property to renovate and rent out. With all of the foreclosures on the market and the large number of up-and-coming neighborhoods, we finally decided it was the perfect time. Our good friend, Lily McClellan, and coincidentally the real estate agent who sold us our MAK home, found us the cutest little house in Capitol View Manor. We decided to make an offer, and a few weeks later we closed on the property. As of yesterday, we are officially “landlords-to-be!”
We are so excited about this little house. It was built in the 1930s and is a 2 bedroom/1 bath home at the end of a cul-de-sec and right on the border of a 10 acre park. It needs a bit of clean up, but it has original hardwood floors and a lovely lot with huge hardwood trees. And it’s just minutes from downtown Atlanta!
My parents are planning to come to Atlanta from Texas to help us renovate in January, and we hope to have it ready for renters in February. I’ve taken a ton of “Before” photos, and I can’t wait to share the “After” photos with you all in a few months.
